چکیده

Abstract The putative host galaxy of FRB 20171020A was first identified as ESO 601-G036 in 2018, but no repeat bursts have been detected, direct confirmation the remains elusive. In light recent developments field, we re-examine this and determine a new association confidence level 98%. At 37 Mpc, makes third closest to be date an apparently non-repeating (with estimated repetition rate limit $<$ $0.011$ per day above $10^{39}$ erg). Due its close distance, are able perform detailed multi-wavelength analysis on system. Follow-up observations confirm typical star-forming with H i stellar masses $\log_{10}\!(M_{\rm{H\,{\small I}}} / M_\odot) \sim 9.2$ $\log_{10}\!(M_\star = 8.64^{+0.03}_{-0.15}$ , star formation $\text{SFR} 0.09 \pm 0.01\,{\rm M}_\odot\,\text{yr}^{-1}$ . We detect, for time, diffuse gaseous tail ( 8.3$ ) extending south-west that suggests interactions, likely confirmed nearby companion 601-G037. 601-G037 is shred located south has arc-like morphology, about order magnitude less massive, lower gas metallicity indicative younger population. properties system indicate ongoing minor merger event, which affecting overall component stars within Such activity consistent current progenitor models involving magnetars signs interactions other galaxies.

The Host Galaxy of the Quasar

A recent study suggests that the quasar HE 0450−2958 is hosted by a galaxy substantially fainter than that inferred from the correlation between black hole mass and bulge luminosity. As this result has significant bearings on galaxy and black hole evolution, we revisit the issue by performing an independent analysis of the data, using a two-dimensional image fitting technique. We indeed find no...

The Host Galaxy of Grb 060505: Host Ism Properties

We investigate the ISM environment of GRB 060505. Using optical emission-line diagnostic ratios, we compare the ISM properties of the GRB 060505 host region with the hosts of unambiguous longand shortduration GRBs. We show that the metallicity, ionization state, and star formation rate of the GRB 060505 environment are more consistent with short-duration GRBs than with long-duration GRBs. We co...

The Host Galaxy of GRB 990712 ⋆ , ⋆ ⋆

We present a comprehensive study of the z = 0.43 host galaxy of GRB 990712, involving ground-based photometry, spectroscopy, and HST imaging. The broad-band UBVRIJHKs photometry is used to determine the global spectral energy distribution (SED) of the host galaxy. Comparison with that of known galaxy types shows that the host is similar to a moderately reddened starburst galaxy with a young ste...

The Host Galaxy of Grb 970508

We present late-time imaging and spectroscopic observations of the optical transient (OT) of gammaray burst (GRB) 970508. Imaging observations roughly 200 and 300 days after the burst provide unambiguous evidence for the flattening of the light-curve. The spectroscopic observations reveal two persistent features which we identify with [O II] 3727 Å and [Ne III] 3869 Å at a redshift of z = 0.835...

The Host Galaxy of Grb 971214

GRB 971214 is the third gamma ray burst for which an optical afterglow has been detected. I show that the spectrum of this afterglow (optical and X-ray) is inconsistent with the relativistic blast-wave model unless a significant source of extinction is introduced. Assuming that a single absorber exists at redshift z, I find that its V -band absorption magnitude at this redshift is AV (z) = 1.00...
